THE PROJECT I AM LEANING MOST TOWARDS

I have chosen to create a complex management system to help tackle the issue of communication, scheduling and organisation at my local mosque where hundreds volunteer every week and thousands every year. The current control mechanism is simple text messaging which is unreliable since messages do not get delivered to every single volunteer or potential volunteer. People commit many hours every day and their work is not recorded in any form; this system will allow them to
register and gain recognition for their work.

Majority of the time the same volunteers could not be contacted again after completion of their tasks to help out for future events since contact details are lost; the application will help ensure that members are staying committed. This application would serve as a management system with scheduling/planning techniques; the system would also contain a social platform capable of notifying users for their upcoming tasks/timings for duties. It would also update members regarding upcoming events.
Users will need to sign up in order to use the application; after verification they would able to use the full features of the application.
The application will feature a hierarchy and cater the separate departments; this will cap certain users’ abilities and give others more control over the application and other users. The application will contain many other detailed features – since these are specific, the application can only cater this particular mosque organisation.

TECHNIQUES THIS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WILL USE:

• Computer security: this is very important since the application will contain personal user info
• Algorithms: Use series of algorithms explored from last year to create efficient/fast system
• Data/web: cloud computing and databases will be used to store the data
• Neural networks: graphs will be used to connect/link different departments/sort hierarchy
• Data mining: recognising/tracking certain individuals to complete tasks for particular
• departments and offering them future volunteering priority
